LCC Nurse Pinning Slated During National Nurses Week

LAMAR - Beginning on May 6, Lamar Community College is joining the American Nurses Association in celebrating Nurses: Caring Today for a Healthier Tomorrow, as part of National Nurses Week, which is held May 6-12, every year.

The purpose of Caring Today for a Healthier Tomorrow is to raise awareness of the value of nursing and help educate the public about the role nurses play in meeting the health care needs of the American people.

In honor of the dedication, commitment, and tireless effort of the nearly 3.1 million registered nurses nationwide to promote and maintain the health of this nation, the ANA and LCC are proud to recognize registered nurses everywhere on this particular day for the quality work they provide seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Timed perfectly, LCC will hold its annual student pinning for both Practical and Associate Degree (RN) Nursing students on Saturday, May 8th at 3:00 p in the LCC Wellness Center. Saturday is also National Student Nurses Day, so it is appropriate to hold LCC’s Pinning on that day. The public is welcome to attend the event.

In honor of Nurses: Caring Today for a Healthier Tomorrow, all registered nurses in America are encouraged to proudly wear the official ANA "RN" pin or any other pin that clearly identifies them as registered nurses, and/or their nurse’s uniform on May 6.

Aligned with LCC’s Nursing and Allied Health programs are the college’s Emergency Medical Services offerings. Emergency Medical Services Week is May 16-22.
